Here you wake up to the chirping of birds and fall asleep to the silence or the wind that shakes the birch forest. Here the morning coffee can be enjoyed outside. With a view of the fjord or forest with a bustling bird life. Both foxes and hares visit us in the quiet morning and in the evening twilight. A quiet night, a calm morning, fresh air and closeness to nature make it good to be here for both small and large. Here children can play in the exciting birch forest. Or look for treasures on the shore a short walk from the yard. We are located 20km from Vadsø center and 1km from Varangerfjorden, only a few 100m from Jakobselva. Here there are hiking opportunities on foot, by bike, snowshoeing or skiing right outside the door. This is perfect accommodation for you who want closeness to nature and people in Varanger. You can take advantage of self-catering, full or half board. Or just order certain meals. Here is good tumble space both outside and inside.
Bed & breakfast
Holidays are there to be enjoyed. If you choose bed and breakfast, you get breakfast included in the price. The rooms are located in the same building as the restaurant so you can easily have all meals served if you wish.
Room
In quiet and peaceful surroundings here at Varangertunet you will find spacious and homely rooms. A good alternative for you who travel alone or with one or two.
Apartments
Are you looking for plenty of space and freedom to control the days yourself? Then this is for you! Here there is plenty of space for both friends and family. The apartments are also well equipped with everything you may need during your stay.
SAUNA
In the middle of the yard, a little sheltered, is our new wood-fired sauna. (2020) The sauna culture is a legacy from our Finnish ancestors. And Vadsø is considered the sauna capital of Norway. Our sauna can accommodate a maximum of 6 adults. Here you can get the warmth in you, cleanse body and soul and feel clean in every way. You order a sauna no later than 1200 on the day you want to use it. As it takes some time and fire up! Price by appointment.
THE FIREPLACES
Around the yard there are several campfire sites. Here it is good to calm down after a long day of experiences. Or enjoy campfire coffee for breakfast.
At Varangertunet we serve all meals to order
With us, good homemade food comes to the table. Our recipes are family recipes we have used for generations. But preferably with new twists. Fish from the fjord and river, game and berries are our main ingredients! If you want more restaurant serving, we also deliver this in collaboration with local chefs. Our salmon soup, finn beef and mullet cake have become very popular among our guests! For serving breakfast to small groups This is arranged as a breakfast tray in the kitchen connected to the accommodation unit. Meals must be ordered no later than the day before.
